About Arbopals

Welcome to Arbopals!

Arbopals is a fun, safe, environmental Virtual World for children aged 5-10 and everyone else interested in how the internet and the environment can connect to make the world a better place for the future. Users will be able to play with their friends, make new friends, and let their imaginations grow, just like trees in the forests!

As users participate in the site’s gaming, creative activities, social networking, and learning opportunities, Arbopals plants real trees—in their names—in many countries around the world. We’re starting with about 20 countries and will be expanding from there. Click here for our interactive tree-planting world map.

Some things you should know about Arbopals

  • As kids and others play on the site, a portion of the subscription fee, merchandise cost and other fee-based activities goes to plant real trees around the world, and users will be able to choose the country where they want their trees planted. In everything that we do, we want to deliver on our promise of “Virtual Fun. Real Trees.”
  • The main play space within the Virtual World is called Arboria. There will be lots of activities here, including opportunities to make friends locally and internationally, learn new skills, be creative, explore and go on adventures, make and decorate a tree-fort, do favours for others, discover secrets, earn badges and rewards, participate in clubs and events, play games, learn about nature and trees, dress up, write songs and play music, trade and sell creations, and most importantly, plant and grow trees. Click here for a map of Arboria—many towns and forests and rivers and mountains and adventures will be added over the coming months and years.
  • The Arbopedia is where you’ll find lots of information about the trees and the forests of the world. Users of the site will soon be able to add their own stories and pictures and other content to the Arbopedia.
  • Our Privacy and Security Policy is found here.
  • Our shop is where you’ll find all kinds of environmentally friendly merchandise, including biodegradable pens, 100% cotton t-shirts, tree-themed dolls and more!

Why the name “Arbopals”?

“Arbo” is the word for “tree” in the international language Esperanto. “Arbo” or versions of it are used in various English and international words, including arboreal, arboretum, arborist, arbre (French), arbol (Spanish), etc.

“Pals” because we think it’s important for kids to make new friends: both with other kids and with the trees and the forests.
