Basic Tips
Click here to contact our staff and website monitors, about any issue related to your safety or security.
Your safety and security is our top priority. Various safeguards are in place to allow a safe, fun-filled community-based game experience. We also encourage you to do a few simple things to further protect yourself from any uncomfortable situations:
- Report any players that make you feel uncomfortable and report them when the incident happens.
- Be aware that there are some players who may attempt to use scams to steal your game credits or stuff.
- Always keep a parent or guardian informed that you are playing Arbopals.
- And always feel free to contact Arbopals staff or monitors if you are being harassed or bothered by another player.
Protecting Your Privacy
Arbopals values your privacy. Your personal details are safe with us. On the registration form you provided your birth date and your parent’s e-mail address; that information is only used to confirm your identity, if you contact us about your account. You may read the full privacy policy here. It’s not just up to us, though. To keep your private details private, you must not:
- Tell any other players your password, e-mail address, telephone number or other personal information.
- Ask other players for their private information.
- Type your password anywhere except in the Arbopals registration and log-in pages, or in the Contact Us section.
- Give away, trade or sell your Arbopals character.
Keeping Your Stuff Safe
The Arbopals staff and monitors do everything we can to make sure that Arbopals is a safe place to play and hang out, but you have to watch out for scammers. A scammer is someone who will try to steal your credits and stuff, or trick you into giving items to them. There are even some scammers that will try and take over your Arbopals character by trying to get your login information.
The more time you spend playing Arbopals, the more knowledge you gain about safety-related issues, but when it comes to scammers you always have to be careful. Just when you think you know all the scams, they come up with new ones.
Here are a few tips to stay a step ahead of the scammers and make sure you don’t fall for their tricks:
- Don’t loan your items to other players. Instead, exchange any items in fair trades to avoid a scam.
- If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. No matter how bad you want an item, it isn’t worth getting scammed for.
- Some scammers travel in groups, so be extremely cautious of trades that involve a player introducing you to a newly created player (Guest12345, for example) for a trade.
- Never give your login information to anyone. Once you do this, the safety of your account and your stuff is in jeopardy.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable or something about the trade doesn’t seem quite right, don’t trade.
- If you are scammed, report the incident immediately through the Contact Us link on the Arbopals website.
Remember: It’s up to you to keep track of your stuff and your trades! If you knowingly enter into a trade and get scammed (because you didn’t check the trade window or otherwise), Arbopals is not responsible that you didn’t get your stuff.
Scamming is against the Arbopals values and, in most cases, against the law. All scammers will be banned from Arbopals, permanently.
